Lions of Alberta Foundation (L.O.A.F.) was created in 1980 as a supervisory and directive body, approved January 05, 1981 by the Province of Alberta, to form a society to serve the Lions Clubs of Alberta.

Subsequently, the Government of Canada granted the Foundation (L.O.A.F.) a Charitable Tax Number, allowing the Foundation to issue Income Tax Deductible Receipts for donations to Lions Club Community Projects.
